Watermark Update: 5/10/2017

Update 5/10/2017

You can remove the watermark from your videos. Just go to preferences in the Plays.tv client.

Watermark Removal

If you disable watermarks, new videos you record will not have the watermark. We are unable to update old videos that have already been recorded.

Thanks for letting us know how important this issue is to you.

Update 5/5/2017

In our next release, you will have the option to remove the water mark completely through preferences in the client. We want you to know we’ve heard your feedback and trying to make these changes as quickly as possible. Here is more history for you:

Two days ago, we released a new version of the Plays.tv client.  Part of that release included adding watermarks to your Plays.tv videos when you upload. We got a lot of feedback and we want you to know we are listening and reacting as quickly as we can.

Why did we add the watermark?

  • We saw thousands of examples of Plays.tv content shared on other platforms ( Facebook, YouTube, Reddit, etc ) without the creators’ permission
  • In many cases our users let us know about Plays.tv clips being used on other sites with no link to the source
  • Including our brand helps us spread the word. It lets people know they can create and see more clips just like the one they watched.

We learned a lot from this release and your feedback.

  • The watermark was too big.  When we saw it live, it was clear to us we could make it smaller.  The new version addresses that.
  • The username takes up too much space.  We included it thinking our users would like the attribution.  You’ve told us you prefer it to not be there and we removed it.
  • The watermark stood out too much.  We’ve toned down the opacity significantly.

Thanks for using Plays.tv

  • Konoko

It turns out now you can delete this program?
Because AMD Relive now gets much better and does not have advertising

    • Plays.TV

Thanks for your feedback. We will give users the option to remove water mark through preferences.

    • colesdav

You can use AMD Crimson ReLive to generate your videos and then importthem as OBS into Plays.TV and then create clip, add emoji and text and then upload to plays.TV or Youtube from within the Plays.TV Client.

You can remove the watermark today. My solution at the top of this discussion.

    • colesdav

Thank you for your kind email. I appreciate it.
      colesdav.

  • armedpoop

I would much rather NOT have a watermark at all. Can you at least give the option to turn it off? I think its quite obnoxious that its forced.

    • Plays.TV

Yes, we are working on that. Please wait for the next release and you’ll have an option to remove through preferences

    • colesdav

Again… you can remove the watermark today. See my solution above.

  • BusyDinosaur

im literally switching to a different program just because you don’t even give the option to remove the watermark

    • Plays.TV

In our next release we will enable an option to remove the water mark through preferences. Thanks for sending us the feedback.

    • colesdav

You can remove the watermark already. See my solution above.
If you have an AMD Card that supports Crimson ReLive Driver then turn ReLive on and try recording with that. You can import ReLive Videos into Plays.TV as OBS and then create clips from there also.

  • DoorBanger – DriftChannel

Im done with playstv. no option to put if off or whatever cya

    • Plays.TV

In our next release we will enable an option to remove the water mark through preferences. Making the water mark smaller was a quick fix. Want you to know we heard your feedback.

    • colesdav

You can remove the watermark already. See my solution above.

  • Stinger

Amazing decision, lets see how many people will use your platform now.
Everyone with a nvidia graphics card: ShadowPlay will work just fine boys.

    • Plays.TV

Hi – want you to know our next release will give you the option to remove the water mark for your own videos.

    • colesdav

You can already record videos in AMD Crimson ReLive Driver just fine.
Some people still like to use Plays.TV or have older AMD Cards which do not support Crimson ReLive Drivers.
I have already given a workaround to remove the watermark.

As for Nvidia versus AMD … AMD Crimson ReLive performs better for recording than ShadowPlay.

I own cards from both vendors. I have tested it myself. So have many reviewers.

  • RoseWolfz Prime

I’m fine with the watermark and glad you made it smaller but i did like that it showed the username

    • Plays.TV

In our next release we will give users the option to remove the water mark completely. We will consider finding ways to give users more attribution where you have more choice. Easiest to give you the option to remove the whole thing first.

    • colesdav

If you want to add your Username why not just add some text during clip creation? It is on the lleft hand side of the yellow bar.

Another option is you can get the wtaermark file and generate a new one using Inkscape or edit it with GIMP.

See my solution above to remove the watermark for details of the file.

  • Nenad Proxy Djordjic

Can you just give us an option to choose do we want watermark or not?

    • Plays.TV

Yes, we will in our next release. Thanks for letting us know your thoughts.

    • colesdav

You can remove the watermark now. See my solution above.

  • angedestenebre

i stop using plays.tv only because you put this watermark because when i begin too use plays.tv it for have only my game and no other thing in my video (except my communication) now plays.tv is useless fot that

    • Plays.TV

Hi – the next update will give you the option to completely remove the water mark. I hope that addresses your concern.

    • colesdav

You can remove the watermark now. See my solution above.

  • Cindy

Can we customize our own watermark? Like have a kitten and your name as a logo instead of the plays.tv.

Honestly I was mad at the forced watermark because I thought I would be forced to pay some sort of membership to remove it.

    • Plays.TV

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts. That’s a cute idea. You can add stickers to your videos and maybe one of the images would be something you like.

By the way, the watermark will not be forced after the next release. And it will be a free option.

    • colesdav

You can add your own .svg files by placing them in the following directory:
(For Windows 8.1 in my example).

      C:Program Files (x86)Raptr IncPlaysTVresourcesimagesstickers

I run AMD Crossfire and there is the option to have a Crossfire Logo on Screen in the AMD Crimson ReLive Driver.

Unfortunately plays.TV does not record the Crossfire Logo or FPS overlays.

My solution for the lack of Crossfire Logo was to download a CrossfireX.svg file from the Web, place it in the C:Program Files (x86)Raptr IncPlaysTVresourcesimagesstickers directory

The next step is to record your video, then create clip and inset an emoji
      The Crossfire Logo is available.

You can use a program called Inkscape to create .svg files from scratch.
Here is an example of a Plays.TV recording with a Crossfire Logo added.

    • colesdav

      Hey Cindy …

If you look very carefully there is a tiny cat in the watermark here.
      https://plays.tv/s/LFpdqzAmaRDF
Next stage … a bigger cat.

    • colesdav

Hello again … this one you might like better.
If you want a different type of cat … let me know ASAP.
      https://plays.tv/s/LFqf6PLqt1I2
Next I look at making it transparent, and adding your name.

    • colesdav

Here is a transparent cat for you.
If you hurry I might be able to do the image and Font you want …
      https://plays.tv/s/LFr1dHpT_qOP

    • colesdav

      Hi Cindy.

Here are my final example videos using a game I was testing AMD TrueAudio Technology on today called “Murdered: Soul Suspect”.

I picked this title also because the starting scenes to the game are quite dark, and so the Custom Watermark stands out better.

I ran these final tests using a non transparent cat and your name set to be transparent in white.

This was just a quick attempt at what you were asking for, and these final tests were only done to double check the Customised Plays.TV Watermark I generated for you would work correctly in all four Plays.TV Watermark locations.

In any case here are the videos showing the watermark in the four locations. They are best watched in 1080p resolution.

      1. https://plays.tv/s/LFr_b-JqGazE

      2. https://plays.tv/s/LFrbMwdRPhPf

      3. https://plays.tv/s/LFrbZX-4zGz8

      4. https://plays.tv/s/LFrbBJ6vS2gq

Please let me know if you want the custom watermarks I generated.

I am afraid you didn’t reply with the image of the cat/kitten or font type you were after in time so I could customize it for you.

Alternatively you could wait until Plays.TV developers provide a way to do this Custom Watermark Generation.

Generating the image to the correct size, creating the transparent images and text requires some work and explanation from me.
I am out of time right now. I have lots of real work to get on with today. I only did this work in my break times today.

I think a range of larger Plays.TV Watermark sizes would be better so you can display the cat in a larger image area.

You did say you wanted a kitten though I guess … ;-).

Thats all from me today I am afraid.

      Have a nice day.

    • colesdav

Im on another break. I just uploaded an example of what I was stalking about to start with. I generated a High Quality (HQ) .svg file, placed it in the Plays.TV Library. I then took a pre-existing Plays.TV Recording, created a clip, and inserted the HQ.svg file of the cat in the lower RHS of the Video along with a text overlay.

I left my Customised Plays.TV Watermark in the Lower LHS of the video for comparison.

Here is the link to the video.

      https://plays.tv/s/LFs1JdYTVHGM

The Default .svg files that come with Plays.TV could be so much better. They are very basic indeed. Maybe this example will show the Plays.TV Devs what quality of Emoji they could provide.

The Emojis (.svg files) are not , however, transparent.

      Goodbye.

    • colesdav

Hi, Here is the largest the Cat Watermarks can get and still place correctly win all four Watermark Regions. Plays.TV will need to fix the gradient issue. I cannot workaround it.

Again if you want a copy of the watermark files let me know.

      Bye.

  • Fuck Off

This is the fastest way to lose users.
Fuck off with your watermark bullshit. Shouldn’t have added it without the option to remove it in the first place, you incompetent fucks. I cannot for the life of me imagine how you thought this would go over well with your users.
Uninstalling and I hope others will too.

    • Plays.TV

      Hey there,
Thanks so much for your feedback. We’re sad to see you go.

We completely understand your frustration which is why our team is currently working on the option to remove the watermark completely.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have anymore questions or concerns.

  • Michael North

After seeing the negative comments here I just wanted to say that I am very pleased to see the reasoning behind why the watermark was added in the first place. I initially thought that it was just the cost of using free software but instead it’s to protect us from having content stolen. That’s great.
I upload to Plays.TV regularly but I also use the application for other purposes so having a watermark is not a good thing for me. I’m glad to see that it will be optional soon.
Thanks for taking our feedback and working to make a better program!

    • Plays.TV

Can you let us know what other purposes you use Plays.tv for? It helps when we understand how you use our product. Thanks!

    • Michael North

Well, still video games of course, but in addition to capturing regular gameplay for sharing with friends I’ve used it for a job application and a machinima project that I’m editing in another application. I also upload some clips to my youtube channel and have considered using Plays.tv for longer videos too. I’ve used Fraps and Shadowplay but Plays.tv has been my main for a while now because it’s easier to use.

    • Plays.TV

Thanks for the feedback. It’s really helpful to understand how you use Plays.tv. I’m glad we will be able to release something that solves your need soon.

    • Michael North

I guess you removed the other comment but I still saw it so if you want my feedback then here you go.

I don’t especially care whether the video hosted by Plays.tv has a watermark. It seems redundant to me if viewed on the site, but obviously the point is to protect against having it re-hosted elsewhere.

So, if the watermark was only added when uploading to the Plays.tv website and the local files on my computer emained clean then I’d be fine with that. I think that keeping it optional would be a good solution for most people though. People like making their own choices.

    • Plays.TV

Thanks. The issue is complicated. But our solution is clear. We’ll give you the preference to turn it off. It’s being worked on right now.

    • Bryant Hansen

I use plays T.V. to record cinematic videos such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAMcoikaBlU …while I understand the added reason that it gets the word out for plays TV, I really would like an option to turn off the watermark so that I am not forced to crop my videos.

    • Plays.TV

Cool video. I can see how for that type of video you want it to be watermark free. Bottom line is you’ll have the choice to remove the watermark in a pref soon. It is actively being worked on. Thanks again for sharing.

    • colesdav

Why aren’t you using AMD Crimson ReLive as a temporary alternative at least?

Otherwise just delete the watermark in Plays.TV folder and you should not have to crop your video at all, You could even generate Custom Logos and emojis like this:

      https://plays.tv/s/LFso7WEZcWgK

Do you have AMD Cards? If so what cards do you have and what drivers are you running. I can tell you if you should be able to download and install and run AMD Crimson ReLive in ~ 5 minutes.

    • colesdav

Have a look at this one.

      Recorded in AMD Crimson ReLive.

Imported as OBS to Plays.TV and Uploaded to Plays.TV.

      https://plays.tv/s/LFsqJkyofMI3

Youi dont have to use Plays.TV at all of course, if you just want to upload the ReLive Videos direct to Google you can do that.

At the moment though … Plays.TV gives a way to generate short Clips, add Customised HQ Emoji, and if you want to also add your own Customised Plays.Tv Watermark … or just remove the Watermark.

AMD Crimson ReLive recording overhead is somehwere in the range of 1,6 – 3% for me.

I can even use it to record 3DMark Firestrike results.

      Cheers.

  • colesdav

    Hello.

I can remove the watermark from Plays.TV v1.23.1.

Here are two recordings. In bothe examples the Watermark is in the top left hand corner of the screen.

    (1). With the watermark removed.
    https://plays.tv/s/LFp5ua_ejxO9

    (2). With the watermark re-enabled.
    https://plays.tv/s/LFp65wDoHIhb

I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit so others may have different results.

    How to remove the watermark:

    1. Go to the following directory:
    C:Program Files (x86)Raptr IncPlaysTVresourcesimagesplaystv

    2. Cut the following file from the directory:
    plays_logo_watermark.png

    3. Paste the file to your windows desktop or somewhere else for safe keeping.

    4. Proceed to record using Plays.TV.

    It works fine for me.

    Hope this helps everyone.

    Thanks.
    colesdav.

    • Konoko

Thank you for writing how to fix this.
Now developers can fix this solution.
You are a very smart person.

  • Mority Ritschie

    Thanks!

  • Don Johnson

i like the idea but i’d also like to be able to disable it. Since i usually only use the videos to make compilations and add my own watermark which fits in with my overlays etc… But not with a watermark that takes up half my screen and doesn’t fit at all with anything i have. So i would have to do everything over to fit the watermark… I’d rather use another program to record at that point and not have a watermark. But i’d rather not since i like plays tv.

    • Plays.TV

Thanks! It was clear our original watermark was too large. We fixed it since that was an easy fix. The option to disable is coming soon. Actively being worked on. Thanks again for using Plays!

    • colesdav

Can you give my suggestion to remove the watermark a try out please. It seems to work fine after multiple tests today. Yes it means users have to remove one file from the Plays.TV installation directory but at least is does get rid of the watermark until you get the new build out.

      Thanks.

    • colesdav

Please try my propsed solutions in the postts below to remove the watermark, and let me know if they work for you.

Also I would suggest you give AMD Crimson ReLive a go … if that is an option for you.

      Thanks.

  • Annithat

Can we have an estimate to when the new update without the watermark will be released?

    • colesdav

Try this and let me know if it works for you…

      Solution below …

      1. Go to the following directory:
      C:Program Files (x86)Raptr IncPlaysTVresourcesimagesplaystv

      2. Cut the following file from the directory:
      plays_logo_watermark.png

      … etc.

    • Annithat

      It didn’t work.

    • colesdav

      Really?

Dis you make sure that you restarted Plays.TV before recording?

    • colesdav

      Really?

Did you make sure that you restarted Plays.TV before recording?

    • colesdav

Which version of Windows are you running and which version of the Plays.Tv Client please?

      I can quickly take a look at Windows 7, 8.1, 10 64Bit.

      Windowes 8.1 works for me.
I can look at the other two.

    • colesdav

I just checked I can remove the watermark again. Thats been tested in Neverwinter. Murdered Soul Suspects and now DOTA 2 here: https://plays.tv/s/LFu0IMDCo2ew

The Plays.TV Watermark was supposed to be in the Top Right Hand of the video.

    • Absolarix

Doing this, I managed to get rid of the text, but not the gradient that comes with it.
      http://i.imgur.com/q20E2Tn.png

    • colesdav

Yes … thank you so much for your reply.

Could you please tell me what operating system you are using?
All my testing was done with Windows 8.1 64 bit so far. I can swap in Windows 7 or 10 OS within 5 minute re-boot, but it would save me time looking at either of those OS in my spare time today. I have lots of work on my plate at the moment. if you can confirm the solution works with one of those it will help me get on with something else.

I also still see a shadow (gradient) for where the Plays.TV watermark would have been too. I just noticed that yesterday evening when I was recording Neverwinter. I was actually trying to insert a Custom Watermark without performing some additional image manipulation operations first. I had thought it was because the image I was trying to insert in place of the watermark was too large. I was clearly mistaken. Sorry for that.

I did not notice it when I was creating a Customised Watermark for Cindy.
I had deliberately used Murdered: Soul Suspect as I was working with it anyhow and it has a nice dark background.

I definitely noticed it later last night when I did yet another check when recording DOTA2. (Someone claimed removing the Plays.TV Watermark file and then restarting Plays.TV and recording does not work for them — that may well be true of course).

I never said my proposed solution was perfect though ;-).

When I saw that the Watermarks were introduced without any notice in Plays.TV build v1.23.0 I thought Plays.TV users would have unable to do anything about it at all.

A true Watermark Implementation would have either embedded the Watermark Image within the Plays.TV Recording Software itself, or even better held a duplicate image somewhere on a Plays.TV Server and that Watermark Image would have encoded data into it to ensure that both matched. That way they could change the encoded data with frequent updates to Plays.TV and defeat users trying to override the Watermark System.

Even with the less secure means of having a Water mark Image within the directory as it is now, the software should check that the image was in the directory, and also that the code embedded in the image was as expected. If the code is not as expected or the image is missing, no recording would be done and the person trying to break the Watermark would fail completely.

Anyhow, at least the Plays.TV text is gone. There is likely an opacity level set on a layer in the Plays.TV recorder, or there is another file that Plays.TV Users may have to get rid of.

I was hoping that the Plays.TV Devs would tell us all or respond to my suggestions, but I hear nothing.

To be honest I expect we will have another quick Plays.TV Update to allow us all to switch the Plays.TV Watermark in the software completely early this week if not first thing Monday Morning.

I am not really sure I understand the reasons behind this Watermarking Idea if it was not to ask us to pay for the software to have the watermark removed. If Plays.TV want to do that, that is their option of course.

I cannot understand why having the ability to switch the Plays.TV Watermark completely was not a quicker option than making the Plays.TV Watermark smaller, or why we were not told to just remove the image in the directory.

Again maybe someone from Plays.TV can let us all know.

On a side not … did you get a chance to look at the Customized Watermark and Customised Emoji .SVG files I produced in this video for Cindy?

      https://plays.tv/s/LFuqMHvFe1Km

I prefer the HQ Emoji idea at the moment because the Plays.TV Watermark is too small at the moment for that purpose. However .svg cannot be made transparent … I think. They could be animated though … but thats a whole other story ;-).

      Bye!

    • Plays.TV

The plan is that our next release will give you the option to remove the watermark. This will remove the image, the gradient, everything. It’s a top priority and I believe it will be released in less than a week. Other solutions may work or may work partially as you’ve seen. What we release will be tested and should give you exactly what you want.

    • colesdav

      Hi,

I did reply to your last comment but my post is not appearing here. I do not know why.

In any case … I will try again.

If you record using AMD Crimson ReLive and Import as OBS into Plays.TV a PLYS.TV Watermark is not added at all and you do not get the gradient issue either.

Once you import your Relive Video into Plays.TV you van upload to the Plays.TV Website.

      Here is an example video.

      https://plays.tv/s/LFvEWG1L2Yy2

I deliberately left the AMD Crimson ReLive Recording logo/timer visible, but it can be switched off.

Also note with ReLive you can record the FPS overlay in Steam.

I will go and see what happened to my previous post.

      Bye.

    • Absolarix

I got the entirety of your previous post is my email.
      I’m using Windows 10.
The reason I use Plays.TV is because of the bookmarking feature and it’s low performance cost.

    • colesdav

      Thanks.

OK so I do not neet to test windows 10 then.
It looks like this will be fixed in Plays.TV soon anyhow.
Here is another example where i import ReLive Recording into Plays.TV. Create short Clip. Add HQ Emoji. Upload to Plays.TV Website.

With Crimson ReLive, no gradient or Plays.TV Logo.
I will add the link to thsi post.

      Bye.

    • Plays.TV

My best estimate is that it is less than a week from today. I can tell you that this is the next feature that will go out and it is a top priority.

  • Absolarix

While I like using Plays TV and can fully understand why a watermark helps you guys, I don’t like how forceful it is. I would rather just have it off entirely and not have to deal with it. Having any sort of software watermark on one’s videos makes them look quite unprofessional, and with how well Plays.TV runs on everyone’s computers, it’s a shame to see something like this crop up.
Though with the addition of watermarks, if it isn’t going away, I would at least like to be able to customize them. Adding my username and my own flare, for instance.

    • Plays.TV

You’ll have the option to remove the watermark completely. It will be in our next release. Shooting to have that to you in less than a week. It’s the top thing we’re trying to fix right now so you have the ability to turn off the watermark.

  • Bob Farty

I think it’s pretty clear that like many people, I’m going to have to uninstall this until they remove the watermark, else I will just use another recording software. It’s not like there is a lack of recording software out there.

    • Plays.TV

You’ll have the option to remove the watermark in preferences soon. Should be less than a week. It’s a top priority to fix this for you.

Thanks for letting us know how important this is.

    • Plays.TV

The new version that is available allows you to remove the water mark.

  • colesdav

Workaround Method 2 to turn off the Plays.TV Watermark in v1.23.1.

    Hello,

I have another method, to disable the Plays.TV Watermark.

    Details on the way …

  • Raffa D’Lucas-Dj

    please, remove watermark.

    • Plays.TV

The next update will include the ability to remove the watermark. Thanks for your feedback.

    • Plays.TV

The new version is now available. You can remove the water mark through preferences.

  • colesdav

    Hi,

To anyone else looking for a workaround in the meantime …

Whilst I can remove the Plays.TV Watermark Logo, and I can add in my own Custom Watermark Logos I am unable to remove the “Transparent Gradient” region. I can only conclude that the gradient is implemented internally in the Plays.TV recorder.

I have tried the following to remove the gradient.

(1). C:UsersAppDataRoamingPlaysTVplaystv.cfg contained the following statement:

    watermark_location = NE

    {Note it can be SW, SE, NW, NE … and I took a wild guess at maybe it could be false).}

    I looked at the following:

(A). set watermark_location = false. Then make the playstv.cfg file “Read Only” before launching Plays.TV Client.

Result = the white region showing the watermark location in the GUI dissapears indicating watermark region is not selected or the watermark is off. This looked encouraging initially but when I looked at my recorded result the gradient region is still in lower LHS (SW).

(B). remove the line set watermark_location = SW completely. Then make the playstv.cfg file “Read Only” before launching Plays.TV Client.
In this case the GUI showed lower LHS (SW), selected.

    2. I downloaded and installed Process Explorer and ran “Strings” on the Plays.TV Exec to try to find any obvious exec options/switches related to watermarking. None found.

    3. Although I do not believe .PNG files can transfer “Layers” information, I investigated anyhow. The Idea was to apply a “Divide Layer” over the gradient region to double the brightness of the pixels underlying the gradient.

Whilst this concept definitely works in some design tools I have used in the past,
either .png file does not support this concept or Plays.TV does not understand it.

Finally … Whilst on the subject of C:UsersAppDataRoamingPlaysTV

If you ever get the situation where you launch Plays.TV and it sits for infinity
    “searching” then do the following:

    1. Kill all Plays.TV Processes using Task Manager.
    2. Cut the C:UsersAppDataRoamingPlaysTV folder.
    Paste it somewhere else
    3. ReLaunch Plays.TV

You will find Plays.TV now runs normally.

In my case Plays.TV would work and launch when I was logged in as Administrator, but stopped launching and working after it crashed when I was using it to record as User.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

To anyone else looking for a workaround in the meantime …

    Whilst
I can remove the Plays.TV Watermark Logo, and I can add in my own
Custom Watermark Logos I am unable to remove the “Transparent Gradient”
region. I can only conclude that the gradient is implemented internally
    in the Plays.TV recorder.

I have tried the following to remove the gradient.

(1). C:UsersAppDataRoamingPlaysTVplaystv.cfg contained the following statement:

    watermark_location = NE

    {Note it can be SW, SE, NW, NE … and I took a wild guess at maybe it could be false).}

    I looked at the following:

(A). set watermark_location = false. Then make the playstv.cfg file “Read Only” before launching Plays.TV Client.

    Result
= the white region showing the watermark location in the GUI dissapears
indicating watermark region is not selected or the watermark is off.
This looked encouraging initially but when I looked at my recorded
result the gradient region is still in lower LHS (SW).

    (B). remove
the line set watermark_location = SW completely. Then make the
playstv.cfg file “Read Only” before launching Plays.TV Client.
In this case the GUI showed lower LHS (SW), selected.

    2.

Finally. I was able to import an animated PNG file to Plays.TV Watermark region.
Look at this in Mozilla Firefox:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wi

If you update your Plays.TV Client to support anpg … Users could in principle have Customised Animated PNG Watermarks.

    Hope this helps.

Forgot to mention. The only way I found to get rid of the Plays.TV Watermark gradient was to do the recording in AMD Crimson ReLive. Import the ReLive Recording to Plays.TV as an OBS file, and then upload to Plays.TV as shown here:

    https://plays.tv/s/LGC9XN1D0rxt

In ythis case there is no Plays.TV Watermark Logo or Gradient seen.

    Bye.

please put an option to not include the watermark, is a pain in the ass what you do in your update.

    • Plays.TV

This option is now available. It’s a preference. More details in the blog post which has been updated.

  • colesdav

    Testing new update now. Thanks.

  • colesdav

Thanks for listening to the Plays.TV Userbase and giving us the option to remove the watermark quickly.

Is it possible you could also consider including an option to roll back to a previous Plays.TV build or specific Plays.TV build and prevent any Plays.TV Client update for cases like this in the future?

In addition… I think I have learned something from this in terms of responding to request to produce customized Watermark and improved HQ Emojis.

Did you look at any of the videos I produced with these included?
Could you consider adding a “Enable Custom Watermark / Emoji File”
and set Custom Watermark/Emoji file location?

I would prefer not to edit the Plays.TV installation directory.
Not checked yet but I assume anything in there gets wiped during updates …

Also do you think it possible to support animated (apng) files in future?

    Thanks.

Plays.TV Test Results on Build v1.23.2

    Summary.
    =======
Congratulations and thanks for fixing this.
It all seems to work correctly for me.

Only one minor issue – if you remove the plays_logo_watermark.png completely from the Plays.TV installation directory with Enable Watermark on – you still see the gradient issue in the video. You also see the gradient if you Enable Plays.TV Username with Custom Watermark.

    Details.
    ========
    Multiple tests were run.
Supports Custom Watermarks @ 200×104 pixels with no Gradient Issue seen yet.
The build still Supports HQ Emoji o.k.

    System Information.

    No CPU or GPU Overclock.
    CPU i7-4770K @ Stock Speed.
GPU Dual R9 Nano run in Crossfire at Stock Speed.
AMD Crimson ReLive WHQL 17.4.4. Fresh Driver installation.
